NHRA Race Excites i5/OS Customers

Chicago, IL. - October 5, 2005 – Dr. Frank Soltis, IBM’s Chief Scientist and renowned ‘Father of the iSeries’, was the premier guest of Hartley Racing at the Ameriquest Mortgage NHRA Nationals in Chicago last weekend.  ProData Computer Services, Lansa, and ASC sponsored a VIP suite at the starting line where their customers and other guests gathered to cheer on the i5/OS Hartley Racing team.

IBM iSeries race fans and prospective customers were invited to watch the Hartley Racing dragster in action. The i5/OS is prominently displayed on the dragster to excite the attendees and correlates to the POWER 5 processor in the latest iSeries system.  Bob Cozzi of RPG World, John Siniscal of Lansa and Floyd Del Muro of ASC were other familiar faces to the iSeries crowd.

The Hartley Racing i5/OS car was recently on display in IBM’s exhibit area at the largest iSeries user conference, COMMON, in Orlando, Florida.  Attendees were treated to photographs with the actual dragster, while the driver, Joe Hartley, signed autographs and visited with the crowd.
