More . . .
Allen Hartley, team owner, is a veteran driver and has been on the racing circuit since the early 1970’s. His passion in his professional life mimics his passion in his personal life: RACING! He has raced in cars ranging from a 1967 Camero to twin engine dragsters. Taking a hiatus to start his business, ProData, a software company, he returned to the race circuit in 1991 ready and raring to get into action. With 1996 being one of his best seasons he has had two event wins, one second place finish, two national "Best Appearing Crew" awards and finished second in Division Five point standings.

Hartley Racing made it’s debut in the Top Fuel Eliminator class four years ago and continues to run a limited race schedule. Joe Hartley has taken over driving duties while Allen continues to own and run the team.

Allen races a Top Fuel Dragster, sanctioned under the National Hot Rod Association, in races around the country. His car accelerates at about 4.5 to 5 g forces and generates about 8000 horsepower running on nitro-methane. The cars cover a quarter of a mile in 4.4 seconds at a speed of 330 mph. The first 2 days of racing, all cars make 4 qualifying runs. On the last day of the races, the fastest 16 cars compete in a single elimination ladder with the fastest car running against the slowest car down thru its class.

Allen & his crew are fabulous to watch race. So, if you want to feel the Power & Performance, head to one of the many NHRA locations and watch Allen in action.

About the NHRA

The National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) is the only motorsport where the fans have total access to the pit area. This allows the fans to be one on one with the drivers and crews, and to see the cars worked on between rounds. Now, in its fifth decade, the NHRA is the worlds largest motorsports sanctioning body. Membership has grown to over 85,OOO with 137 member tracks, 26,000 licensed competitors and 3,800 member-track events. Attendance exceeded the one million mark for the ninth consecutive year for the 23 race National Event Schedule. The average attendance of 96,000 is higher than the average of any NFL, Major League Baseball, NBA or NHL team.
